Faster Pulse, Richer Pages: RIR Ownership, BGP Anomalies & Deeper Guides

We've shipped a round of upgrades to the live "Pulse of the Internet" feeds and to the guides across the site. Here's what's new.

The BGP anomaly feed is fast — and actually flagging anomalies

Our live BGP feed watches for prefixes announced by an origin ASN that differs from their long-stable expected origin — the signature of a route leak or hijack. It now loads instantly and reliably surfaces those flagged announcements as they appear across our RIPE RIS collectors, instead of stalling. If a prefix you follow starts being announced from an unexpected AS, you'll see it here.

RIR changes now name the network behind them

The RIR ownership feed logs allocations, transfers and country changes straight from the registry delegation files. When the affected range is already in our dataset, each row now also names the organization and ASN that holds it — and the country — with one-click links through to the full organization and ASN pages, so a raw block of addresses becomes a recognizable network at a glance. Brand-new allocations show the country right away and pick up their org/ASN once the range is indexed.

Deeper guides across the toolbox

We've expanded the explanations, worked examples and FAQs on the tools people reach for most — the WHOIS / RDAP lookup, the CIDR / subnet calculator, the subnet cheatsheet, IPv4 vs IPv6, and "What is my IP?" — with clearer cross-links so you can hop between related tools. We also fixed a bug that occasionally showed IPv6 visitors a placeholder address instead of their real one.
